I guess we kind of say it like ol’ girl or ole’ gal. I’m from the south so yeah we just kind of use it. Like where i’m from sometimes people call their girlfriends ‘old ladies’ or ‘betty’s. I know it’s awfully weird but that’s just how we do it.

My mom’s from the south tho…lol! I’m not even kidding, I’ve heard her say a lot of out of the norm things. That’s a new one for me. She’s said, “that gal” tons. I’ve heard a spouse referred to as an old lady though. Then again, different parts of the south have different ways of speaking. Not weird. :)
